Maffra Dargo Walnut Red Leicester

The cheese is made to a traditional Red Leicester recipe and infused with crushed walnuts. The texture of the cheese is firm with a slightly flaky texture. The cheese is matured for at least three months, allowing sufficient time for the walnut oil to permeate the sweetness of the cheese. The result is a deep, smooth, nuttiness which lifts the creamy undertones of the cheese.
This is a wonderful dessert cheese, particularly if served with fresh berries or poached pears. The nutty flavours are also beautifully accompanied by the crisp but fruity sweetness of a chilled Chenin Blanc.
